FREE, MULTICULTURAL, CCSS ALIGNED CURRICULUM
History in Color is a multicultural, standards-aligned curriculum designed to bring history to life through diverse voices, perspectives, and stories often left out of traditional textbooks. Developed by educators and rooted in community collaboration, this free resource empowers students to explore the past while making meaningful connections to the present.
The curriculum spans grades PreK–12 and includes lesson plans, primary sources, student activities, and assessments that highlight the contributions, struggles, and resilience of people of color throughout history. By centering inclusivity, History in Color equips teachers with tools to foster critical thinking, cultural understanding, and pride in every classroom.
Whether used as a full program or integrated into existing social studies units, History in Color ensures that every student sees themselves in history—and learns to value the richness of our collective story.
